We’ve all heard it said a million times- the kiddos who sit down to dinner with their families X number of times per week will do better in school, feel more secure, find the cure for cancer. (Well, maybe not that lastone, but hey, it could happen! Family meals are important!)
Although this usually isn’t a problem at our house, (silence is a rarity!) some with kids- especially tweens and teens- may wonder, “What in the world do we talk about?” I’m sure we all love to dig deeper with our kids but may be at a loss for topics after spending an hour in the kitchen, baby on hip, cooking while calling out spelling words.
So, I made this printable that you can print out, stick on your fridge, and have handy when you sit down for that family dinner. I plan on doing these a few times a year, so let me know if you have any great questions to add to the mix!
Even better, print one out for each member of the family and have them write down their answers each night, or serve as a scribe for your younger ones.
Do you have trouble finding things to talk about with your kids? If not, what do you enjoy talking about?
