A dress, boots, and leggings is one of my favorite go-to outfits in the fall. But first of all, I have to say I am so very excited! After a solid 24 hours of labor, my best friend and her hubby delivered their first baby Monday night! I didn’t ask if I could post a photo, but let’s just say he’s perfect! I spent 21 of those 24 hours at the hospital so to say I’m exhausted is an understatement but it was so worth it to see and kiss that sweet boy!
Secondly- congrats to Christine from xtinedanielle– she won the $250 Giftcard from Gallery Furniture, plus 2 scripture prints from A Royal Daughter, 3 hand-knit washcloths from The Fontenot Four, plus a fun key chain from Amanda Lynne Designs! What an awesome giveaway package! Be sure to go check out these wonderful shops and blogs. Keep your eyes open for another giveaway coming up soon! {although this one will be hard to top! 😉 }
So I’ve been writing about Making a House a Home this month, and I must say this topic has been one of my favorites in my two and a half years of blogging! One reason creating a nice atmosphere is so important to me is because, well, I’m here A LOT! Since I homeschool, many of my days are spent at home with the kids. So I want our house to be be nice and comfy for my family, as well as the many people we host for dinner, etc.
Staying at home a lot does have its downfalls, and one of those is the temptation to stay in yoga pants and a T-shirt 24/7. And while I do have days like that, I’ve been trying to get dressed in “real clothes” most mornings because it makes me feel better and I think I actually accomplish more when I’m dressed to “work” instead of dressed to lounge. (although a day of lounging sounds good right about now!)
I also enjoy getting dressed up for our (almost) weekly date nights with Ben. I’ve been enjoying trying out new styles as I’ve lost weight and been able to buy new clothes. One of my favorite trends- that I hope is here to stay- is the presence of lace on lots of women’s clothing. Ben likes it, too, so I’ve picked up a few pieces along the way. This dress is one of my favorites!

Love this guy and the gorgeous sunset behind us. Here’s another shot of that sunset just a few minutes later:
Oh, if you enjoy photos like this, you can check out my other blog. Yes, I’m crazy enough to have two blogs. It’s called “The No Filter Photo Blog.”- While I am a huge fan of filters on photos (you know that if you follow me on Instagram) I just love the glorious, natural colors that God has painted into nature. So I’ve dedicated an entire blog to showing off those colors!
Anyway, I’ve covered lots of topics in this post (it’s the delirium setting in!) so I’m signing off for tonight! Have a wonderful day.
