…the other side of summer that is. I cannot believe that September is already halfway over and we are on our 4th week of school! That is craziness for sure. This post will serve more or less as a re-cap of summer since I was pretty much an absent blogger this summer. 😉
We didn’t have much planned, but guess what? It quickly became busy due to some huge exciting changes in our life that I’ll be sharing soon. But there were also trips, weddings, family time, camp for the older two kids, grandparent time for all my littles, a new kitten (yes, another one in addition to the one we got in March)
We spent the day at a waterpark with my sister, her husband and their kids.
The sun was SO bright that day! My niece was ducking for cover.
Our older son played basketball, and played basketball, and played basketball. When he finds something he loves (drums, hunting, and now basketball, he pursues it ell!)
(on his team at the YMCA)
Magic occurred and my cousin’s 4 kids were at camp AND 2 of mine were also at camp, so my other two went to spend a few days with my parents and my cousin and I visited NYC and DC! I forgot what traveling alone felt like! We had a blast but I was certainly ready to get back to my family.
On the Brooklyn Bridge- one of my favorite things we did on our trip! (Minus getting lost at the end 😉 )
My littlest missed me- here were are Facetiming while I was in DC. 🙂
My daughter Allie helped me teach VBS several Sundays at our church. (Since our church doesn’t have a permanent space (yet!) we did VBS over 10 Sundays of summer rather than a 5 day program. I had SO much fun and I think the kids did too. 🙂
Allie teaching VBS songs- I see her future as a children’s minister. 😉
At the tail end of the summer, our beautiful niece was married at the beautiful camp my father-in-law runs. Evaleigh was her flower girl and was just so cute and sweet.
Eek! The first day of school! My older two are going to a different school this year and the transition has been refining but so good. We are finally getting into a rhythm (hence I had time to write this 😉 )
My 3rd started kindergarten- wahhh! How did that happen? All of the kids only go on campus a few days a week and are homeschooled the other days. It’s worked well for us.
I did do a teensy tiny bit of blogging- check out my recipes for Chicken and Bacon Pizza with Balsamic Drizzle and Honey Basil Lime Grilled Ribs.
