Dating your Spouse

I have another new sponsor swap this month, and I love her heart! We also have something very important in common, as you will read below. 😉 Please welcome Faith!

Faith Hey to all of Kelli’s readers! My name is Faith and I blog over in my little online corner at The Life Of Faith!
I am honored to be guest posting for Kelli today as one of her fellow pregnant bloggers (just a few weeks behind her). We pregnant chicks have to stick together right? 😉

One of the things I write about most often on my blog is my weekly date nights with my hubby Jimmy!
I have been married to this wonderful guy for over a year now. Sheesh time flies!

Yeah, yeah, I know it’s only been a year, but hey…I am more in love with him now than I was the day we said I do!
What’s our secret?
Well, I don’t have a magic wand, or a list of rules for you to follow. In fact, it is by the grace of God that we are as happy as we are! But the one thing I can look back on and see the difference that it has made in our marriage is our weekly date nights.

For many couples, once they get married the dates slowly taper to an end, or maybe even abruptly stop! It’s not because they don’t love each other anymore, but life gets busy, money gets tight, kids get crazy, and somewhere in the middle of all that, the young and in love couple forgets to keep doing the one thing that once brought them together: Dating.

So, we have resolved that our date nights will not be taken from us! Even if it’s just a country drive, every Thursday night, Jimmy and I spend some quality time together.
I love it! I love knowing that in the middle of the week, my hubby is going to make time just for me:)

Looking for some ideas to get the date nights rolling?
Here are a few of our favorites!

Go on a picnic
Go out for a country drive…pack snacks and a favorite CD
 Go ice-skating
 Go mini golfing
Go out in the middle of no where and star gaze
 Go fishing
Go bowling
Make dinner together…and eat it together!
 Go flea marketing;)
 Go on a hike

I hope you and your spouse will give it a try! You may be a little rusty at first, and it may even be a little awkward (kinda like that first date huh?) but just have fun with it! This is your life partner after all…invest some time into them! Have fun with them! I promise it will be worth it:)
