woohoo!

“Out of the mouth of babes.”
I never truly understood that saying until having kiddos of my own.
My son is reading through a New Testament reader this summer to keep up his skills. Each day, he also paraphrases the story and illustrates it. I have really enjoyed seeing his drawing and writing progress over the last year. (He did the Old Testament during the school year.)
So a few days ago, his story was from Luke 8:40-56, where Jesus heals the daughter of a Jewish leader named Jairus. In this same passage Jesus also heals the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years. Here is his rendition of the scripture:
In case you have trouble reading it, it says, “and she’s bake (back) to life. woohoo Jesus said.”
Wow.
This speaks to me on so many levels. All day yesterday I was mulling over what excites me- vacation coming up, my kids doing new things, blogging, seeing my family, going on dates with my hubby. The list goes on, and they are all good things.
But when is the last time I got truly excited about something spiritual? When God truly healed someone, whether spiritually, mentally, or yes, even physically? Shouldn’t that be the most exciting of all, the redeeming of a life?
Obviously, the words “woohoo” are not in the Bible {not even in The Message!}, but this drawing showed me how my seven-year-old son was excited about what happened, and I want to be excited about these things, too.
What excites you?
Awesome, God is awesome..I always find things that my kiddies do or say priceless. Just like you said Out of the mouth of babes, my grandmother used to say that phrase all the time.
LOVE!!! This is so precious. Absolutely the heart of Christ in there, displayed for us to see. No wonder He asks us to come to Him like children 🙂
I love the faith of the little ones. This picture and his words are so touching and I’m sure make you proud as a mom. Last night I was watching an episode of TBN with my husband and Darryl Strawberry was on there giving a great word and testimony. The way God has came in and transformed him into a new creature excites me! This is a man who’s life was a total train wreck, BUT GOD!
This is so incredibly adorable. Thank you so much forlinking up with us today!
I’m new to Into the Word Wed. and I’m loving connecting w/ other believing women (I’m number 22 on the link list this week.) this post is so cute. We need to imagine God saying that about us – “whoo-hoo! They trust me!” He must celebrate when we thank him and seek him and rejoice in his goodness. What a great visual! Thank you for sharing such a precious picture!
Mare- that is so true! I love that analogy.

Kelly this is a great post! I love the WooHoo! I want Jesus to say “woohoo” about me. 🙂
Praise God.
This touched my heart! Sometimes I think we can learn more from children than they learn from us.
So true! I know I have learned so much from my children. They are so honest!
