The last few weekends for us have been so lovely- last weekend was spent just hubby and I at a church-planter’s retreat. We had three full, uninterrupted nights of sleep and that was just amazing! We ate 8 meals without having to get up and get more water or wipe a snotty nose or wipe up a spill. It was glorious. (thanks to my wonderful mom, dad, sister, and brother-in-law for taking on all 4 kids!) Of course we missed them and couldn’t wait to get them back. That’s the way it always goes. 🙂
And of course the only photo we got all weekend was a selfie with terrible lighting. But don’t we look well-rested? I even put on full eye makeup! 🙂
This past weekend we spent at a camp for our annual church retreat. This is what it looks like when city people get out in the country!
I also rode a zipline for the very first time- while strapped to Allie! It was her first time, too. Unlike me, though, she proceeded to go 6 more times with various other people from church. Here we are at the end- I took out my phone and got a shot of us in case it’s my only time ever!
Then this happened. It’s the hardest physical activity for me! But I made it pretty much to the top once and halfway up again, then I was done!.
So do you like getting away to the country if you’re a city-dweller? Or vice-versa- do you like escaping to the city occasionally if you’re normally a rural-dweller? I think an occasional change of scenery does us all well!
