A Handmade Christmas: Homemade Christmas Ornaments

I love making homemade Christmas goodies, and if you’re like me, you have a TON of scrapbooking/craft supplies that aren’t getting used much right now. I had the idea to make these Domino Christmas Ornaments last year, but with a 5 year old, 3 year old, and newborn at the time, it never happened! They are very simple to make and will make great gifts for teachers, babysitters, Sunday school teachers, anyone for whom you need a small gift!

Start with  plain dominoes. You can get a set of these on sale at Target sometimes for around $5, and I bet they can be found at garage sales as well!

Cut scrapbooking paper of your choice to 1.75 x .75 inches, then Modpodge onto the domino on one side.

On the backside, Modpodge a ribbon into a loop onto the domino and hold for a few seconds, then add another 1.75 x. 75 inch piece of paper over it. This forms the “hanger” for the Christmas tree.

Then, embellish to your heart’s content! Here are a few of mine from this year:

The back:
After you are done, apply a coat of Modpodge over the front and let dry, then repeat on the back.
This will seal the paper and keep it from tearing.
Happy crafting!
