The last few days of Making Small Changes have been challenging, inward introspecting, hard days. So I thought I would lighten things up a bit today and talk about using accessories to make small changes to your wardrobe. Last year, I did a fun post using 7 pieces to create 7 outfits and am going to revisit those 7 pieces to show how just a few accessories can change things up- a lot!
For example, take this outfit. Already accessorized a bit with the necklace and belt:
Add the jacket and a snazzier belt, plus leggings. Gets dressier, plus warmer if you HAPPEN TO LIVE IN A CLIMATE WHERE OCTOBER ACTUALLY MEANS FALL. Not that I’m bitter about 90-degree days in October. Not at all.
Next up: I LOVE this lace dress I got on sale for $15. Here it is with leggings/ black boots/ and a necklace from Charming Charlie.
Here, I swapped out to skinny jeans, brown boots, added a belt and a scarf. Same main piece, completely different outfit.
Another favorite: this top, also from Charming Charlie. Same skinnies, boots, and necklace from before.
Added a black under shirt, changed to black boots, added the scarf and belt.
With a little thought, adding/swapping a few accessories can help you create several new outfits from clothes you already own!
