If you’re like me this time of year, you’re looking for quick, easy dinners that are still delicious. This year especially, with remodeling a house and all, it has been fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants many nights. But when I remember to put something in the crockpot in the morning- like this Creamy BBQ Chicken Recipe- it makes for a happy family at dinner time.
I love using my crockpot year-round, but this time of year it’s especially helpful. This one-pot meal is perfect for those nights when you’ve got a ton of things going but want to forgo fast food. I love just throwing everything in the crockpot in the morning and having a delicious meal by that evening.
There are only 4 required ingredients for the dish- then the rest is up to you! One night when I made it, I even added potatoes to the crock pot so I would have a side dish ready-made as well.
Ben and I like our food spicy but the kids don’t so we usually add jalapeños at the end. But I have made a version where I added the juice from the pickled jalapeños to the crockpot- so very good! There are so many ways you can totally personalize this dish!
We love KC Masterpiece Hickory Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce around here– it’s the perfect blend of savory and sweet. We use it on chicken (of course) but it’s also delicious on shrimp! KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce was created in Kansas City – where people love to barbecue – and it’s still the number one selling sauce there today. You can learn more on their Facebook page!
