a great family meal

Today’s post is pretty unusual for me, but I felt I needed to give a particular restaurant some love. And I am receiving zero compensation for this post- they don’t even know I exist!

We went to Johnny Carino’s last night for a belated Mother’s Day celebration with our “little family” (I was with my mom on Mother’s Day for the first time since 2008!) and I must say, they are doing a great job for families.



Every Monday-Friday from 4-6, all appetizers and pizzas are 1/2 price. It is called “Happy Hour,” but you don’t have to sit at the bar or order an alcohol to participate in the special pricing on food.
Then, on Mondays, all Family Sized entrees are 1/2 price, plus the kids drinks are free!



So, last night, we spent $28 for our family, including tip, and this is what we got:

a regular size of their Italian Nachos (so very good!)
a family size of Chicken Parmesan- we substituted Fettuccine Alfredo for the spaghetti
{the dinner also comes with unlimited salad or soup for everyone! The salad was SO good}
an Italian creme soda
2 kids drinks



Best of all, we had enough leftovers for myself and 2 of the kids today! Can’t beat that.

I do believe we would have spent $28 for most fast food places, and not received near the quality of food or service. Our waiter was phenomenal- not a title I give freely. 🙂
