I love having a smoothie in the morning a few times a week for breakfast. It’s a good post-workout treat and they can be made SO healthy! This is one of my favorites- Mango Banana Green Protein Smoothie. I’ve just begun adding Matcha tea to my smoothies at the recommendation of my boot camp instructor. It adds a little boost of flavor, as well as cleansing properties. (and let’s be honest, caffeine 😉 )
Speaking of smoothies, I got to go to the new Sprouts Farmers Market in our area a few weeks ago, right before their Grand Opening, with a few other bloggers. We competed in a Smoothie Challenge where we had several ingredients available and were able to make our own smoothies! We had so much fun trying new things- you can find all of our recipes here.
I’m so excited about having a Sprouts nearby- I’ve already been three times since their opening 2 weeks ago! I love that I get fresh produce at a great price, plus specialty items like my Matcha tea and probiotics. Their vitamin/supplement section is HUGE and I’m looking forward to trying new things.
Do you have a Sprouts nearby? What are your favorite items to purchase?
- one handful greens
- 1 cup frozen fruit- I used a mixture of mango and strawberry
- ½ banana
- 2 tsp. Matcha tea powder
- 2 tsp. Peanut Butter Powder
- 4 oz coconut milk
- ½ cup ice
- Put all items in blender, beginning with coconut milk.
- Blend until smooth.
- Makes 2 smoothies
Sprouts provided me with free products in compensation for this post, but all opinions are my own.
