- Put about 3 tablespoons (real) butter and 1/4 cup brown sugar into a skillet and heat until bubbling.
- Add 2 bananas cut into 1/2 lengthwise, then in 1/2 again.
- Cook until the sugar/butter mixture becomes caramel-y and the bananas start to brown and soften a bit.
- Serve bananas over vanilla ice cream (Blue Bell if you live in the South!) and sprinkle with chopped nuts if you like.
- Spoon extra caramel from the pan over the ice cream and serve immediately.
