If you go swimming a lot in the summer like we do, you might notice that icky residue that chlorine- or even ocean water- leaves in your hair. I have a trick I use every few weeks during the summer- that I have been using since high school! {which has only been a few years, ha!} I read it in a Seventeen magazine {before they were completely inappropriate!} in a “Low-Cost Beauty Tips” article.

What is this mystery trick? Baking soda! I just add about 2 Tbs. to my shampoo in my hand and scrub away. You can repeat this if you have lots of build up. Rinse well. And that is all! It makes your hair and scalp feel super-clean. {Although I can’t promise hair as glorious as the picture above!}
I also found this great tip, using your own conditioner. It is the source for the picture above, so maybe it will make your hair look like the picture. I’m going to try. 🙂
Do you have any cool uses for baking soda? It seems to be a natural wonder! 🙂 The best part- costs about 45 cents a box!
I do use baking soda as shampoo and as a non-abrasive scouring powder, especially in the tub. I don’t like putting my kiddos in chemically cleaned things…
