Children’s Acetaminophen {aka Children’s Tyelonol- add to your list}

{Since a picture of acetaminophen is not very interesting, I thought a picture of the very adorable baby who needed said medication this week would be better. And also, my husband, whom I miss very much. Enjoy!}

As a mom of three littles who have all experienced multiple ear infections- baby acetaminophen {the generic of Tylenol} is a staple around our household. I was very pleased and surprised to run across it on my last trip to, you guessed it, Dollar Tree.

I was a little hesitant to buy it there for some reason- yes even me, the queen of cheap. But it was made in the USA and after all, acetaminophen is acetaminophen, right? Right! I chanced it and brought the bottle home, figuring I had other bottles around if it didn’t work for some reason.

The littlest of my littles wound up with fever last weekend so I decided to break open the new medicine-mostly because I couldn’t find the open bottle. {sound familiar to any other moms out there?}

The verdict- it does what the drug is supposed to do- that is, bring fever down and ease the pain {of yet another ear infection this week- poor baby}. The only downside so far is that my infant does NOT like the taste at all, and she is actually an excellent medicine taker. The older two have not needed it yet, so not sure what their take on the flavor will be.

I checked online and the Equate brand from Wal-Mart is $2.92 for the same-sized bottle {4 oz.} So all in all, this is yet another winner from the DT!

{PS If you have any concerns at all about giving your child/baby meds from a Dollar Tree, PLEASE ask your doctor first!}

  1. I miss having a Dollar Tree in Henderson. In fact, when I’m in Tyler and we make our obligatory stop at the Chick-Fil-A drive-thru, I catch myself staring longingly at the storefront of the Dollar Tree, which is located just a parking lot away. I always WANT to stop in and look around, but I have a standing practice of NOT entering a store unless I know of something I need. (This is to prevent myself from buying unnecessary things!) But now, I’m making a Dollar Tree list – so I will be able to justify going there next time!!
