This post brought to you by El Pollo Loco, but all opinions are my own.
A few days ago, one of our friends asked me what my favorite thing was to do, domestically speaking. His wife answered for me, “Cooking!” And she knows me well- I love cooking and recipe developing and making people not only full, but excited about eating.
But. There are days I.just.don’t.have.it.in.me. Like the days I go to Bible study across town, come home and do laundry, cleaning, and blogging for a few hours, go pick the kids up from school, take one daughter to gymnastics, come back home and do the homework thing- I’m exhausted!
I don’t want to always pull through fast food and get something that I know won’t be good for us. I mean, there is a time and a place for French fries and sodas all that, but a Tuesday evening is not usually it. At the same time, taking 4 kids into a sit down restaurant when they’re tired and I’m tired and everyone is just tired is not usually a good idea either.
Enter El Pollo Loco. For fast food prices and pick-up time, I can get something really fresh and healthy and yummy for my family.
This shrimp salad (left) is one of the tastiest salads I’ve had it was quite filling, too. On the right are cheese quesadillas, which are super-reasonably priced and my daughters’ favorite food almost anywhere we go. I’m a lot happier paying just over $1 for it rather than $5 at some places! We can also get one of these huge Chicken Poblano Avocado burritos and the two smaller kids can share one. They are seriously stuffed with deliciousness. Avocado just makes everything better. For some reason burritos aren’t something I think about making at home so it’s fun to have something different when we’re out.
There really is something for everyone at El Pollo Loco. I’m so glad this restaurant decided to come to Houston!
