Ahh, solitude! It’s amazing how the definition of this word changes when one becomes the mom of a sweet precious baby, then two kids, then suddenly there’s three, oh, and then two years later, there’s four! Solitude used to mean that I would curl up on the couch for hours on end, enjoying snacks that I didn’t have to share and reading a book uninterrupted.
I do genuinely love motherhood but that has changed for sure! Sometimes, the only time I get alone in my day is the first few minutes I’m getting ready in the bathroom in the morning then a few minutes here and there throughout the day. 🙂 Be honest, you know you hide out in the bathroom, too!
A few days ago, I read a blog post called “13 Gross things All Moms Do.” (Go read it, it’s a laugh!) Talking about bathroom issues is definitely one of them! (Especially when our son Landon was born sick, we had to carefully inspect every.single.poopy diaper for its color. And you know how many dirty diapers a newborn has! We even had to take pictures of them to show our doctor!)
Anyway, one thing I’ve recently added to my bathroom routine are the Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Wipes. I mean, it may sound a little weird to have wipes for adults, but come on! Why stop using them when our babies are no longer babies? (Plus, three of my four are responsible for cleaning their own bums. Wet wipes go a long way in helping a mama out!) And, Cottenelle Clean Care toilet paper is really the best tp I’ve used. The combo wet + dry system = cleanliness like no other! And, if you get yours at CVS like I did, you can use this handy dandy coupon to save $1.50!
The best part? A two-step method gives me a few extra seconds of solitude. *wink*
What’s your favorite way to spend your solitary moments?
A few months ago I got to try out the Cottonelle wipes, and my family is now hooked! They love the clean fresh feeling, and I think it helps the little ones get extra clean, too.
And yep, absolutely, my hiding place is the bathroom. It’s the few minutes I get to myself to play an iPhone game or read a book, lol.
