Hi there! Hope you’re staying warm today- it’s a blustery 39 degrees here in Houston! I decided that something yummy, warm and chocolate-y sounded good for a mid-morning snack (when doesn’t that sound good?) but didn’t have a whole lot of time to spare.
So I whipped up this Cranberry and Dark Chocolate Mug Brownie. It took a total of 5 minutes, including getting everything out, searching for my dang tablespoon (still can’t find my favorite one), whipping it up, and cooking it! (It took me waaaaay longer to photograph, edit the photos, and write this post than it did to make it!)
You may wonder, can a microwave yield a delicious dessert? Why, yes. Yes, it can.
I mean, seriously, this is dangerous knowledge, knowing how easy it is to whip up something this sinfully delicious.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Cranberry and Dark Chocolate Mug Brownie.
- 2 Tbs butter, melted
- 3 Tbs water
- ½ tsp. vanilla
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup flour
- 3 Tbs. cocoa powder
- 2 Tbs. dark chocolate chips
- 1 Tbs. dried Cranberries
- Combine butter, water, and vanilla in a large mug and blend well.
- Add sugar, flour, and cocoa powder; mix well.
- Fold in chocolate chips and cranberries.
- Microwave for 1 minute. Add 30 seconds if needed. Brownie should be springy on top.
Come to mama, dear one! What’s your favorite quick dessert? Let me know in the comments!

S-day can’t get here soon enough, this sounds great!!
