I’ve never been much on 4th of July decorations, but a trip to Dollar Tree a few weeks ago changed that! (I seriously had my Christmas wreath up until the day after Easter, when I replaced it with an Easter wreath I got for 1/2 price!) I’d had this idea to do a flip flop wreath since last year, and decided to combine the two.
I fully intended to post this a few weeks ago (I actually did the craft in the middle of June) but just never got around to photographing it. Hopefully you’ll still have time to whip one up for your front door- it’s really easy and fast!
Here’s what you’ll need:
a foam wreath (this was the only thing I didn’t get at Dollar Tree. It came from Hobby Lobby)
ribbon or yarn
4 pairs of flip flops
4th of July tinsel
4th of July embellishment (I used the shooting star- LOVE!)
hot glue gun
First of all, wrap the wreath with yarn or ribbon. I already had this step done because this wreath was originally going to be a Christmas wreath, but that never happened. If you’re using ribbon (which I suggest), make sure to hot glue it intermittently.
Add some of the tinsel for a little extra something if you want. I used it to divide the wreath into fourths, since I was using 4 pairs of flip flops. (See, even more 4th of July, all those 4s!)
Then, arrange your flip flops how you want them. It took a little bit of tweaking but I got them how I wanted them. Be sure to use plenty of hot glue for these. Then, glue your embellishment on top and you’re done!
