A few weeks back, I went on a short girls’ getaway with my mom and sister. We went to a little town not far from my hometown, where bed and breakfasts prevail over modern hotels. I love it, especially since we live in a huge city! We spent lots of time eating, laughing, and browsing antique stores. My favorite find of the weekend was this little guy:

My husband is not as much a fan, but I sure do like it! Anyway, I originally intended to use it as a butter dish, but since my littlest child likes to climb on the dining room table and hurl things across the room, I think I’ll reserve it for more special use. 🙂 That same weekend, I picked up some Coffee Mate creamer and we’re loving their new Latin flavors. Dulce de Leche and Mexican Chocolate- what’s not to love? I’ve especially loved it in iced coffee this summer- it makes the ridiculous 100-degree days a little more bearable!
Since it was so good in coffee, I knew it would be even better as a dessert! I was sitting with some friends eating lunch, thinking about a recipe. when this one popped in my mind. (Yes, I was thinking about food while eating food. Can you say foodie?) I used it to make a cream cheese dip that I served with graham crackers. 
Now the dip, hubby does love- in fact, he’s raved about it for about 2 weeks now! Even if is served in what he calls “the creepy chicken.” The best part? It takes about 5 minutes and only a few ingredients to whip it up. So that weekend? I gained 3 valuable treasures: a beautiful teal chicken (don’t laugh), some new coffee creamer flavors- but best of all, time with my mom and sister!

- 2 packages reduced-fat cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 Tbs. Coffee Mate Dulce de Leche creamer
- 2 Tbs. Coffee Mate Mexican Chocolate creamer
- chocolate bar for shaving on top
- Blend all ingredients, except chocolate bar, in a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, until very smooth. Shave chocolate on top. Store in refrigerator.
- Serve with graham crackers, fruit, or pretzels.
