Giveaway- chore chart for everyone! {aren’t you happy?}

Warning: if you are super-organized or a fabulous housekeeper, don’t read this post! My flawed methods are herein revealed. 🙂
As the mom of three small kids, a preacher’s wife, a teacher of one of those kids, a blogger and wanna-be Pioneer Woman, my plate is pretty full. {Isn’t everyone’s? No matter your place in life right now, I have no doubt ALL of us are busy! If you’re not, will you come clean my house? 😉 }
Anyway, I often look at my oft-destroyed house and get overwhelmed. So I do something productive like get on Facebook, because that will get the laundry done. So, I decided a few months ago I wanted to make a chart for myself to have ideas for cleaning and other items for when I do have a free chunk of time.
Have five minutes? Wipe those fingerprints off the fridge.
10 minutes? Put up the load of laundry that’s been sitting there for three {seven?} days!
My husband often calls me an ADD cleaner. By this he means I start cleaning off the kitchen counter.
I take the books from the counter to the bookshelf. The bookshelf needs cleaning so I go get the dusting stuff, which is in the laundry room. I go into the laundry room then remember that the laundry needs to be moved from the washer to the dryer. But the dryer is full of clothes so I go to find an empty basket. Going into my room to get said basket, I see the bed unmade so I make it. Then I go into the kitchen to make dinner and wonder why the countertops are still cluttered, the dusting stuff is out but nothing has been dusted, and the clothes are STILL in the washer! Whew. {At least the books made it to the bookshelf!}
I happened to have a couple of free hours this Sunday- my baby was sick so I couldn’t go to church. So after steam cleaning the living room and cleaning behind the fridge {yes, the most important task I could think of- where no one will ever see!}, I finally sat down and made the chart! And I would love to share it with you. Just click on it below and you should be able to print it!
Hopefully this chart, while it’s no FlyLady system of organization (which I used pre-kids and is fabulous but very time consuming), will enable me to complete at least a few tasks each day. I also put some enjoyable things on the chart as well- Bible study, reading to the kids, etc. Not every free second should be spent working! 🙂
Feel free to share with anyone.

Comments

  1. Love the chore chart – I’m an ADD cleaner, too.

  2. Nikki Weatherford says

    Seriously, if my husband comes home and the couch isn’t full of laundry he says, “Good day today?” I can keep them clean, but folded and put away is just beyond me! Someday . . .

  3. Larami Serrano says

    Love this, Kelli!

  4. haha, Nikki, I completely understand. It is my goal each day to wash, dry, fold AND put up one load. It doesn’t always happen but when I do get it done, it helps me not get overwhelmed. Also, my two older kids are a little older than yours so they can put away their own. YAY! It won’t be long for you. 🙂

  5. Thanks Larami! How are you???

  6. Yes, if I don’t do something RIGHT when I think of it, it may never get done! 🙂

  7. Ok Kelli, you make me laugh and you should see my house now 🙂

  8. Thanks Megan! I have to laugh at myself or I might cry instead! 🙂
