Y’all. I CANNOT believe summer is over for some of you already. We have about three more weeks left and I want to soak up every last minute. One hack I learned this summer (only took me 10 years of parenting!) was to make individual snack bags for the kids while we’re on the go to the pool, beach, or wherever we’re going that day.
When I was in Randall’s the other day (there’s one SO close to my daughters’ gymnastic class so it’s super convenient!), I ran in to grab some snacks for our outing to the pool this week. I chose a variety pack of Lays’ chips, an 8-pack of Gatorade, and a bag of apples. The only other things I needed I had at home- zip-top bags and a marker.
I got the kids to help with making the bags- they were pretty happy about that!
These are so easy- put a drink and snacks in each bag and label them, then zip them up. You can also label the lids of the drinks. Then when you get to the pool (or zoo, or park) everyone knows exactly which snack is theirs and there’s none of the typical “that’s MY bag of chips” because everyone has his or her own bag. You can also put them in a cooler if it’s like a MILLION degrees where you live like it is in Texas.
Randall’s (and all Albertson’s banner stores) are celebrating 76 years of business with a HUGE sale between now and August 11.t’s a great time to stock up on essentials before school starts (sniff sniff) so you’re prepared for school lunches and dinner after school! When I was getting the items for my snack bags, I also picked up a London broil at $2.49 a pound. We put it on the grill that night and it was so delicious! I had never bought this cut of meat before.
Check out the sale and tell me how you get prepared for the school year! You can check out the sale here!
