How to Make Cute Little Mints :)

For the past several years, I have been making these homemade candies for baby and wedding showers just about everyone that I help to host {which is a lot!}
They almost always get lots of compliments, and who doesn’t want to eat a pair of chocolate baby booties? 🙂

They are super easy to make and add a nice touch to the table.

You can buy these candy wafers at Hobby Lobby. They come in chocolate {both milk and dark}….

And vanilla, which includes tons of pretty colors!

Put the wafers into a glass bowl. Microwave at 50% power for one minute, then stir really well. Continue melting in 30 second increments, at 50% power, stirring in between. {it usually only takes me the initial one minute, then two more 30-second increments.} It should look really smooth, like this:

I usually add some of this

to the chocolate ones before putting into the molds. {about one capful for 1/2 bag of the candy- see, I’m precise!}

Then, simply use a small spoon {a baby spoon works very well} to spoon into the mold shape of your choice. You can also get these molds at Hobby Lobby on the cake decorating aisle.

Here is the chocolate candy in the molds:

Lightly tap the molds on the counter top to remove air bubbles.
Then, pop the molds into the freezer for about 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, remove them from the freezer and invert onto a plate. {Not the plate you’ll be using for serving, though, because lots of extra “shavings” will come off as well.}They should pop right out if they are set well enough.

Now, you have something nice, pretty, and easy to use for a baby shower! {Or any other event for that matter. HL has tons of different shapes of molds!}
