I suppose I should have titled this post “Keeping Toddler Safe” since I technically no longer have a baby. (boo!) But keeping Canaan- our toddler- safe isn’t an easy task. He’s constantly on-the-go and getting into who-knows-what. He decided around Christmas that he was done sleeping in his crib, so he’s been bunking with his brother Landon since then. It poses a small problem, though, since Landon doesn’t need to go to bed quite as early as Canaan but he also doesn’t need to be unsupervised for too long in Landon’s room. Landon also doesn’t nap, so naptime could easily turn into a free-for-all for Canaan.
Thankfully, we are now the proud owners of a Levana Ayden video monitor. This way, we can see what Canaan is up to (when he’s really supposed to be sleeping!) and not disturb him just to find out if he’s asleep yet. As all parents know, if you peek in and they’re thisclose to sleep, they’ll pop up and the bedtime/naptime routine starts all over. This way, I’m able to continue with homeschooling/laundry/talking to my husband/reading and still know that my little one is okay.
See? Not sleeping 🙂
(Now I just need another baby just so I can put this great monitor to more use 😉 )
This device has been designed with parent-friendly controls and features in mind including 48 hour battery life in power saving PEEP mode! That’s awesome for those parents (ahem, me) who might forget to charge it everyday. This mode simply means that it will go into energy-saving mode until your child makes a peep, then it will come back on! How cool is that? The Ayden monitor also includes—>
- temperature monitoring,
- 15ft night vision,
- 750ft ClearVu® digital signal.
There’s also a two-way intercom so that you can soothe your baby with your voice without going in the room, invisible night vision LEDs and 3 relaxing lullabies- ALL controlled by the parent’s monitor! Where was this thing 10 years ago when we first became parents?!?
