Knockoff Anthropologie Snowglobes

It’s no secret that I love Bath and Body Works candles (click here to find out how I get them for free sometimes!) but then I’m left with all these glass jars that I don’t want to throw away. So recently I counted- I had 9 candle jars of all shapes and sizes- all waiting for something fun and creative to happen to them!

what to do with empty candle jars

My daughters LOVE crafts so we spent an evening turning a few of them into snowglobes. While perusing Christmas decor earlier this month, I ran across these Anthropologie snowglobes that were around a few years ago- for a mere $25 a pop.

Seriously, their stuff is beautiful with a capital B but come on? $25 for a mason jar and a few cents worth of trinkets? Ever since my friend Abbie made knockoff Anthro candlesticks (seriously adorable, go check them out!), I’ve wanted to try my hand at doing something fun like this.

I picked up most everything you see here at Dollar Tree, except for the fake snow and nativity set were from Target. It was $1.99 for a bag of snow that will last me until 2029 I’m sure. The nativity set was $3 in their “Dollar Spot.” I thought it was $1 till I got to checkout, but I already liked it so much I paid the $3. So each snow globe you see cost less than $2~ (except the nativity)- that’s a lot better than $25, don’t you think?

Here’s all you’ll need:

empty candle jars, cleaned out (I melted the wax in a simmering pot of water and carefully poured it onto a paper bag using tongs to hold the jar. Then I cleaned with a papertowel and rubbing alcohol

hot glue gun

small Christmas decor items

fake snow

I’m really itching for more time to make more of these – these were so fun to make and I’m thinking they would make fun teacher gifts.
