As most of you know, we bought and (at lightning speed) remodeled a 1950s farmhouse last fall. We’ve spent the majority of our time (and money) on the interior- walls and a ceiling are important, ya know- but now we’re moving to the exterior.
I really love the area right outside our front door. When you’re facing the house, it’s basically at the right front corner. The trees there are beautiful and HUGE- a magnolia(!) and a live oak. We don’t have too much permanent outdoor furniture out there yet.
(My son just asked why I was putting a picture on my blog of our yard while it’s a mess. ;))
With a few folding tables, we are able to make the area into a dining area when we have guests over, like I did for our planting party for toddlers a few weeks ago.
But the only comfortable seating we really have in this area is the swing. We’re a big family and like to have guests over regularly so having extra seating will be so nice so we can all enjoy the outdoor space. I’m thinking a chaise lounge will be nice for this mama. 😉
Next week I’m making a trip to At Home to pick out a few things for this space. I can’t wait! I can’t decide between a “real” dining set or more of a couch/lounge area. They would both be lovely in this space! HGTV and At Home stores have partnered for this year’s HGTV Spring House and I’m so excited to be a part of this! #athomefinds
Check back in a few weeks and I’ll have updates!
