Service with a Smile

Remember a few weeks ago I said we were getting ready to spruce up this area by the front of our house?

Several of you weighed in with opinions on Facebook as to what we should do with the area. Thanks for that y’all! I like hearing your ideas because many times you’ll throw out something I hadn’t thought of!

A few days later, my hubby and I headed to At Home to pick out a few things to add to the area. We’ve about got it nailed down exactly how we want it to look and will start working on it shortly. Yay!

I’m going to drag you out a little longer though, and tell you about our experience at At Home and show you some of their (VAST) outdoor collection. (Say that three times fast, yo!)

We visited the Webster, Texas location and in a word: it. was. phenomenal. (Okay, 3 words.) If you know me, you know how important good customer service is to me.

There as a particular fountain I wanted that we couldn’t find in the area where it should have been. In true-to-myself fashion, I decided that I was going to look through every.single.box in the area until I found one, if it existed. Of course, there were about 57 styles of fountains that were readily available, but I wanted the elusive one. (Apparently it’s pretty popular!)

Well before we knew it, we had not one, but THREE employees on the hunt with us. They were crawling under tables (I didn’t have the heart to tell them I’d already done that) THEN one of them got on top of the shelf and looked through every.single.box. It wasn’t there. (And no, they did NOT know I was writing about them. I purposefully kept it to myself for an honest experience.)

So one of the employees offered me the floor display. (That had not even crossed my mind!) She said it would probably be about a 10% discount. The manager walked up about that time (probably wondering what all the ruckus was about) and said no, it would be a 50% discount! Okay, I can handle that!

We got it, plus a few other items, and were soon on our way. Well, after I got this guy out of the chairs. 🙂 He’s not for sale!
