My daughter Allie loves- and mean LOVES- doing crafts. Anytime I ask her if she wants to do crafts, her eyes light up like I told her we were going to the circus or something. The girl also loves her chocolate, like any good girl. 😉 The other day when we were in Wal-Mart, we picked up some of the new Hershey’s Ready to Eat pudding.
I loved the s’mores flavor- it was rich and creamy and is made with real Hershey’s cocoa. We even added some graham crackers and Hershey’s chocolate to the top. Um, yes please!
After we enjoyed our delicious snack, we cleaned out the pudding cups out and set out to work crafting. I love that we got to reuse the packaging versus just tossing it! Even the toddler got in on the action.
Allie has her own desk with craft supplies, and that area needed some help with organization. We made what we called “stuff holders” for her paper clips, thumb tacks, erasers, etc. I completely let her have control of what she wanted to do (SO hard for me!) and they turned out so cute, don’t you think?
She made a holder for each item on her desk. It was such a simple activity (and not too messy, hallelujah!) but she was just so excited about doing it, and I had fun helping her!
I think she was a little happy with the results. I’m also happy to have an easy snack for the kids! Okay, and yes for me, too.
When you head to Wal-Mart to get Hershey’s Ready to Eat Pudding, be sure to pick up the October issue of the All You Magazine for a 55-cent-off coupon! Look for it in your issue of All You!
What are your favorite activities with your children?
It IS so hard to let them do their own craft, after having the idea and gathering the supplies!!
