Hi there! I’m so glad you’re back for week 2 of Summer Scripture Memory. How did it go with week one for you? (If you missed it, click here to catch up!) I’ll just say that it isn’t perfect yet in our house, but we’re trying. đ It’s pretty cute hearing my 3 year old say “Be be kind” instead of “Be ye kind.”
This week’s verse is under the “anger” tab of the Child Training Bible. This verse is one that speaks truth with a vivid picture of what happens when we don’t control our anger. (You may want to explain to your child that back in Bible times, cities had walls built around them, since that isn’t the case today.)
Print out the image below and hang it in your house where you’ll see it often! (Or print 2 and put one in the car.)
A verse about self-control versus lashing out in anger may be just the ticket as we start out the summer! I know it is convicting for me as I can be short-tempered at times.
This week’s activity is a word search with all the words in the verse. Simply click the link below to be taken to it where you can print it out!
Word Search Puzzle Proverbs 25-28
And- the creator of the Child Training Bible, Mindy Dunn, has graciously offered to give away a set of the tabbers to one of my readers! I’m so excited about this as it’s quickly become one of our very teaching tools.
If you win the tabbers, you’ll just need to get a set of highlighters with 6 colors (here is an example) and a set of Post-It tabs with at least 6 colors (here are some as well) and get to work! It took me a couple of hours to assemble, but I loved it! It was refreshing to read several verses about the same topic and shows how the whole Bible teaches the same premises.
The tabbers list several verses for addressing each sin you see listed above (as well as several verses about the Gospel!). You mark each page with a Post-It (ie yellow for anger) then also highlight that verse with the same color.
You can enter below! I’ll “draw” a winner next Monday night at 11:59 PM CST, then announce the winner on next week’s Summer Scripture Memory Series.
đ would love to win!

Amen.” -Heb. 13:20-21
