Amanda from Royal Daughter Designs and Skye from neatheringourfest tagged me in this fun blog post- 11 things about me. The both asked me 11 questions, and I am answering! (and, I must admit, I love these things! Random facts of trivia about others fascinate me!)
1. Where is your dream vacation?My dream vacation has always been Australia, and we got to go there two years ago! It was the best.trip.ever. Seriously. I was pregnant and we took our two older kids (4 and 3 at the time) and it was amazing! Ben has lots of family there, so we were able to have some great family time as well.

Now that I’ve been there, I want to go to Greece!

2. If you could have lunch with anyone from any time in history, who would it be and why.

World War II era for sure. This period of history has always fascinated me. Interestingly enough, my husband’s grandmother (who recently passed away) was a War Bride from World War II. His grandfather met her in Australia and brought her to Texas! So I guess have had lunch with someone from this era. 😉

3. If you were going to spend one year in outer space, and you could take one thing from home with you, what would it be?oooh, outer space scares me! 😉I’d say a SmartPhone- I’d have access to call my family, plus a Bible, and games (assuming it would work up there!)

4. Do you like roller coasters?

Yes! Although I am getting more and more chicken in my old age.

5. Do you make a Christmas wish list (for yourself) each year?

I make a mental one than am lucky if I can remember one thing from it to tell anyone if they ask!

6. The one song that always gets stuck in your head is…

A lot of songs get stuck in my head, but one that I’ve had on my mind lately is “Praise You in this Storm” by Casting Crowns.
7. What color is your toothbrush?Teal, my favorite color. 🙂

8. What is your favorite movie?

Hmmmm that’s a hard one, but I’m going to say Steel Magnolias.

9. What is the one beauty tip you know you should do, but you don’t?

shhh don’t tell anyone but I don’t moisturize my face every night. :/

10. Would you rather forget your mom’s birthday or Mother’s Day?

hmm another tough one! I’m going to go with Mother’s Day, since that day isn’t specifically about her like her birthday is.
11. What kind of car do you drive?I am not ashamed to say, I drive a mini-van!(But for Ben and mine’s vacay coming up soon, we’re renting a Mustang! So excited!)
And now, my questions from Skye. (who also happens to be from a very tiny town very close to where I grew up!)
1. have you ever gone back and read your very first blog post? what is one thing that makes you cringe and one thing that makes you smile?
I have not, but now I’ll have to! I used to blog at haysinhouston.blogspot.com, and I hardly ever get on there anymore!

2. tell us all about your favorite pair of shoes. where did you get them? what did you buy them for? what is your favorite memory while wearing them?

hmmm I think they would have to be my cowboy boots. My hubby actually bought them for my birthday in 2010 and he did such a great job picking them out! Favorite memory- the rodeo of course! Also, I wore them in Australia. That was pretty awesome. (and made for HEAVY luggage!)

3. if you could go back and do one thing you didn’t do, what would it be?

hmmm this sounds crazy but I had the chance to ride an elephant when I was 6 at a circus (I won it for a coloring contest) and I was too scared. It has always bothered me I didn’t do that! (Although I did get to ride one when I was about 28!)

4. what is your go-to beverage first thing in the morning?

Actually, lately it’s been water. Used to be coffee but I think I am officially weaned!

5. do you sleep with the fan on or off?

ON! Seriously, since I had my first baby, I am so hot natured when I sleep.

6. what is your favorite thing about the home you currently reside in?

The massive back yard- which is a blessing in the Houston city limits. I also happen to love the kitchen, which is good since I love to cook!

7. money aside, you get to plan the absolutely perfect date. spill the details.

Something involving water. The beach, a dinner cruise, something in that genre.

8. do you get nervous pulling your car into the bay when you get your oil changed? or is that just me?

lol, no I do!

9. the eternal debate: mac or pc?

Well that is a good question. Someone GAVE me a brand-new mac a few months ago. Still getting used to it though.

10. what habit do you have that you would pay someone to help you get rid of?

Eating sugar!

11. what is one habit you wish you could naturally pick up and have for the rest of your life?

Making sure I never ever miss my time with God each day.
