Updated Prayer Request and Recipe Round Up #4

Thank you so, so much to everyone who prayed for my granny-in-law last week. We were able to have some sweet time with her (including my 6 year old son stroking her face and singing her to sleep- be still my heart!) and Ben’s family. She went into the arms of Jesus this Monday. We are heading to the funeral visitation tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. Another prayer request- my husband is doing the funeral. Please pray for him- I am sure it will not be easy preaching the service of his last living grandparent.

Ben and I with granny on our wedding day- December 29, 2001.

As promised last week, I am going to have an entire post for her, hopefully by Friday. Here’s a hint about her past:

Ahh, she’s beautiful isn’t she?
In honor of Granny, I am giving you one of my favorite cookie (or biscuit) recipes.
This will also be a hint. 🙂

This recipe is one very dear to my heart, as it was handwritten for me by a dear friend.

Anzac Biscuits
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup desiccated (unsweetened) coconut
2 Tbs. golden syrup (I used Karo)
1/2 cup butter
1/2 Tsp. boiling water
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)

1. Mix oats, flour, sugar, and coconut together.

2. Melt syrup and butter together.

3. Mix soda with boiling water and add to melted butter and syrup.

4. Add liquids to dry ingredients.

5. Place spoonfuls of mixture on greased cookie sheet.

6. Bake in slow oven for 20 minutes- 150-160 degrees celsius,
or 302-320F (I do 320F)

Enjoy! They are so crunchy, tasty and different from American cookies.

It was a really hard choice, but last week’s favorite recipe was Kristi’s
Slow Cooker Ravioli.
Kristi has a fun blog called I Should Be Mopping the Floor. Um, yes, I should be too! If you haven’t seen her blog, you should definitely check it out.
I do love a good slow cooker (or crock pot as I usually call it) recipe,
and this one is so unique.

And, did I mention I’m not eating pasta right now? So it made this one even more tempting!
Congrats, Kristi, I’ll contact you about your free month of advertising.
Now it’s your turn! Please link up any recipe you’d like- new or old- and visit one another! If you don’t mind, please become a follower of my blog either through Linky Follower or e-mail subscribe.
Oh PS, I’m getting a totally new blog design and name, maybe by this weekend. Just come to this same address and you’ll be redirected. It will be fun!
